8 years ago I began this blog to share safe, eco-friendly products I found for my family. One of the first product reviews was for a stainless steel sippy cup. I was so excited to find a plastic alternative. I also had to search hard for plastic alternative dishware for my children. We still use this bunny dishware.
We were just sent stainless steel dishwater I like better than our bunny ware. It isn’t enameled but is brushed stainless steel. It is durable and will last!
Untangled Living sent us a 5-piece collection from their ANYWare collection.
ANYWARE COLLECTION DISHWARE IS:
Food-grade #304, 18/8 brushed stainless steel
Stackable, compact, portable, and dishwasher safe
Perfect for kids, hikes, picnicking, boating, and pool-side
Safe, stylish, unbreakable alternative to glass or plastic
Great for your healthy lifestyle; good for the planet
Responsibly made in China
This dish set is super nice! I love it! It is high quality, and the little gecko and butterfly are delightful.
ANYWare was created by Untangled Living founder Sue Volpe of Los Angeles, CA and Ontario, Canada as a healthy, BPA-free alternative to plastic dishware for her toddlers. As her kids grew, Sue realized that they kept reaching for their ANYWare dishes for meals and snacks, before they’d reach for anything else.
In addition to being made from durable and beautiful, food-grade stainless steel, Sue created four great contemporary designs, instead of typical “kid” designs, so the dishes are as stylish as they are durable.
Because they’re compact, stackable, and unbreakable, active families are loving them for hiking, camping, picnicking, boating, poolside, and entertaining.
Plastic is not safe. The chemicals in plastic, whether BPA or the more dangerous chemicals that have replaced it in BPA-free plastic, cause harm to our bodies and to our ecosystems. As consumers become more aware, more great products like ANYWare become available.
Having special dinnerware for your children is not entirely necessary; however, children, especially when they first begin eating solids, love to pick up their dishes and drop them to the floor experimenting with gravity. If you want to avoid breaking your china and avoid plastic, stainless steel is the best option.
It is almost impossible to remain entirely plastic-free (even harder to avoid made in China), but there are many choices. Keeping plastics away from your food is crucial, especially for children. As the Environmental Working Group explains:
Pound for pound, children get higher doses of chemicals than adults.
I highly recommend the ANYWare collection to protect your child from the chemicals in plastic.
